Your Role

Oversees activities of a software applications development group, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software application enhancements and new products. Develops and manages a motivated high performing team responsible for delivering best in class products.

Your Opportunity

• Be the full tech owner of your team’s products - lead code reviews, and help maintain a high level of code: Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code.
  
  

Establish a professional, motivated and high performance team of technical staff

• Ensure effective communication/coordination across all departments within company in delivering projects
• Provide senior level technical support to supplement customer/client liaison including business development activities.
• Provide technical strategy, direction and standards and to ensure they are adhered to
• Responsible for auditing product code for security issues before they are shipped. Currently the techniques used at Tenable include code review as well as automated code analysis.
• Provide technical support to the Managing Director/senior team
• Provide effective leadership and direction to the engineering teams in line with culture
• Coach and develop staff
• Develop and implement efficient and effective working practices designed to suit the operational and cultural needs of the business and create a world class business operation
  
  

What You'll Need

• B.S. Computer Science or equivalent required
• 8+ years of professional work experience, at least 3+ years managing a dynamic engineering team.
• Hands-on approach - designing, coding, and delivering features to production Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
• Broad knowledge of the high-technology industry gained in larger enterprise security software environments enhanced by in-depth knowledge of complex application solutions issues and ongoing awareness of R&D practices / technology advances.
• Multiple proof points of success delivering quality products from concept to launch.
• Demonstrated ability to grow and lead a team of engineers in a high growth environment.
• Proven ability to build world class products using Agile/Scrum or similar development/management practices.
• Deep understanding of the scalable architectures essential to delivering network security products.
• Ability to architect, perform design and code reviews on distributed platforms.
• Track record of producing complex software products, on time and on budget. Business development orientation, and robust interpersonal communications skills essential.
