Art Director

Papaya is launching a new game-changing initiative, and we're seeking a skilled and visionary Art Director to be a part of the core team and lead it. This role is highly significant, as this project is in its infancy, and therefore, whoever takes part in it will have the opportunity to shape and influence its foundation.

As the Art Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product experience, from vision through innovation tech and all the way into production and business impact.

This is a unique opportunity for a creative professional with strong UI/UX design skills to not only contribute hands-on to the artistic direction but also to build and lead the art team from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a hands-on UX\UI designer, and a natural leader with a passion for the gaming and social platform space.

Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute as a hands-on UI/UX designer, creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces. (About 50% of the time at the beginning)
• Develop and drive the overall artistic vision for our games and social products.
• Ensure consistency and high-quality standards across all visual elements.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a talented team of artists and designers.
• Establish and implement best practices for the Art Department, including workflow processes and design guidelines.
• Review and approve final creative outputs and ensure they’re done according to the requirements
• Lead rapid iterations and testing on a variety of concepts and features, from wireframes to fully designed compositions.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the artistic vision aligns with overall project goals.
• Provide artistic insights and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
  
  

• Extensive experience as an Art Director or similar leadership role in the gaming or social media industries
• Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design expertise and a variety of artistic styles.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma.
• Experience building and leading a team of artists/designers.
• In-depth knowledge of the gaming and social platform industry trends.
• At least two years experience as a UI\UX designer, preferably in product teams or gaming.
• Strong artistic skills, creativity, design, illustration, color, composition, and conceptual ideation abilities.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and quick decision-making within tight schedules, without sacrificing quality.
• Pixel-perfect with attention to the smallest of details.
• A creative team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong design fundamentals and experience across product-thinking, visual and interaction design.
