Role Description

Brightmerge is looking for a full-time Research and Development Manager who will be responsible for managing and leading the R&D team in developing new optimization algorithms and automation systems. This is a hybrid role, implying that the role is located in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut, but some work from home is acceptable. The Research and Development Manager will also manage and oversee various R&D projects, collaborate with other teams to ensure project completion, and monitor industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and risks. The ideal candidate will spearhead innovation, contribute as an architect in designing cutting-edge solutions, manage a talented team of developers and engineers, and drive the advancement of our software solutions in the EV charging infrastructure domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software developers, HW & SW engineers, and researchers in the creation, implementation, and optimization of SaaS B2B software & HW & SW related to the energy system that supports the EV charging hub including the EV charging hub, for EV charging hub simulation and optimization.
• Lead and manage a team of HW & SW engineers that develop the energy system that supports the EV charging hub including the EV charging hub & IOT systems.
• Define and execute the R&D strategy, setting clear objectives, milestones, and timelines aligned with business goals.
• Lead the architectural design of innovative solutions that address business needs and technological challenges, including HW and SW integration that are part of the energy system supporting the charging infrastructure and the charging infrastructure itself. 
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the R&D team.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to quality standards, efficient resource utilization, and timely delivery of high-quality software products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to align R&D efforts with market needs and customer requirements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in EV charging infrastructure and software development to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Mentor and guide team members, encouraging their professional growth and skill development.

• Experience in the energy, automotive, or power industries is a plus
• Proven experience (more than 10 years) in software development with a focus on SaaS products, preferably in the domain of EV charging infrastructure or related fields.
• Proven experience (more than 5 years) in software architecture and integrated HW & SW products architecture
• Proven experience in advanced algorithms development. AI experience is a preferred qualification.
• Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong technical background with proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, cloud-based technologies, and data analytics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, articulate complex ideas, and influence stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable R&D plans and initiatives.
• Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and staying updated with the latest advancements in technology and the EV industry.
