Job Description Summary
The Medical Imaging Algorithm Scientist is responsible for conceiving, designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced tomographic reconstruction and medical imaging algorithms that provide visual and quantitative images to support clinical decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead innovation and development of next-generation medical imaging algorithms to improve image quality and diagnostics, and explore new perspectives for theranostics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing image quality developments of Molecular Imaging products (PET/CT and SPECT/CT technologies) throughout the product life cycle.
- Design, develop, and implement imaging reconstruction algorithms, including participation in system design, validation, and testing procedures.
- Participate in design of experiments, data collection and analysis.
- Use various data analysis methods to characterize image quality, build models, and test hypotheses.
- Develop and maintain simulation tools for characterization, modeling, and concept development.
- Optimize algorithms to meet runtime and memory performance requirements.
- Provide support for field investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Physics, Applications, Systems, and Software, and engage with stakeholders.
- Manage data and configuration, and maintain version control of code.
- Conduct technical reviews.
- Ph.D. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field in engineering and science.
- Outstanding M.Sc. candidates will also be considered.
- Preferred 3-5 years of work experience in medical imaging, image processing, or algorithm development.
- Excellent analytical and modeling skills.
- Strong creativity and data-driven attitude.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python development.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Positive teamwork attitude and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Agility and flexibility to work on both product development and future innovations.
- Prior knowledge or experience in three or more of the following areas is an advantage: physical modeling, data analysis, imaging algorithms, computer vision, machine learning / deep learning techniques, optimization algorithms and methods, medical imaging, radiation detectors, Nuclear Medicine, C/C++ development.
