SRE Team Leader

StarkWare is a fast-growing five-year-old startup that is leading the way in scaling Ethereum. It has built the SaaS platform StarkEx and the permissionless network StarkNet. As Layer 2 solutions over Ethereum, they retain Ethereum’s security while scaling by orders of magnitude. Adoption is fast, and StarkEx today processes more transactions than all other ‘Layer 2’ solutions combined. StarkNet (Alpha) is a decentralized permissionless Validity-Rollup. Both solutions are based on STARKs, a cryptographic system pioneered at StarkWare.

In this role, you will be leading our SRE team, responsible for running our different environments (production, staging, integration, dev) and SRE processes (handling production issues, deployment and upgrades of production and integration environments, etc.).

This involves interacting with many people at StarkWare (especially all our engineering and DevOps teams).

The right candidate:

• Has at least 3 years of hands-on Devops development experience
• Has at least 2 years of experience in managing a team
• Is experienced with cloud platforms (preference for GCP and AWS)
• Is familiar with Kubernetes, Docker or similar container technologies
• Well-versed in Linux operating system (internals and ecosystem)
• Has good personal relations, the capacity to lead and manage a team of SRE’s and to interact with multiple interfaces
• Is curious by nature and a quick learner

Ideally experienced with:

• Is a university graduate in Computer Science
• CI/CD and TDD methodologies and tools (Jenkins, TerraForm etc.)
• Monitoring / Alerting Infrastructure (Kibana, Graphana, Prometheus, OpsGenie etc)
• NoSQL data store (AeroSpike, Redis, RedShift etc)
• Working in a startup environment
• Blockchain technologies and applications
