We are seeking an exceptional architect to join our architecture team and shape the future of quantum control. As quantum computers approach scale and production, we have a unique opportunity to set the architecture of the next-generation quantum computers and push forward practical quantum computing. In order to meet the real-time and scale requirements of state-of-the-art quantum computers, we need to rethink processor architecture.
In this role, you will define the architecture of the next generation pulse processor and its usage model for the compiler. Architecture of quantum control requires a deep understanding of quantum technology with the ability to transform the product requirements and research feedback into development specifications. You will work closely with the different R&D teams, in particular with the logic and algorithms and compiler team, contributing across all development phases from proof of concept to definition and reviews.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture for the quantum control core including the pulse processor and compiler
- Define system-level architecture and features, providing detailed specifications to the various R&D teams, focusing on the logic and algorithms & compiler group.
- Collaborate with the product and research teams to transform high level requirements into architecture and spec definitions.
- Define performance requirements and benchmarks, understand and address bottlenecks.
- Lead, formulate, and assess research and proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new architecture capabilities and experiment hands-on as needed.
Requirements:
- BSc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. MSc. or PhD – an advantage.
- 6+ years experience in logic architecture and/or system architecture with a preference for experience in high-performance processors or communication systems.
- 3+ years of experience in logic chip design or verification.
- Fast learner, strong technical skills, with capacity and the foundation to comprehend and analyze academic content.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Background in digital signal processing - an advantage
- Background in quantum physics/quantum computing – an advantage
