Senior Machine Learning Scientist

Created in 2021, Fairgen is pioneering the creation of generative AI solutions for the polling industry. Founded by a team of data scientists, mathematicians, and engineers, its mission is to accelerate time-to-insights for consumer & market research professionals via a suite of deep machine-learning models capable of augmenting complex datasets and automating analysis. 

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Machine Learning Scientist that will join our algorithmic innovation and development within the Machine Learning team. You will arrive at an early-stage and shape the company’s tech stack and culture. You will design algorithms in the fields of generative modeling, conditional generation and unsupervised learning for applications on tabular & text data.

Responsibilities

• Staying on top of the latest progress in our field. Review and assimilate new research, attend conferences and engage in brainstorming with Fairgen’s academic advisors.   
• Research, propose and develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) in areas like Generative Modeling, Unsupervised Learning, and Conditional Generation. Create new model architectures and derive methods to obtain margin of errors on synthetic tabular data.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers for POC handoff and transition into production. Translate your work into writing through research papers.

Requirements

*Hard skills*

• Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on statistics.
• 5+ years of development experience in Python.
• Experience developing algorithms with ML libraries (PyTorch, Sklearn) and MLOps tools (Wandb, AWS).
• Strong understanding and proficiency with core Machine Learning concepts and mathematics.
• Proficiency with (at least some of): Numpy, Pandas, Plotly, Scipy, Streamlit, Quarto.
• Understanding of software development concepts (clean code, oop) & processes (agile methodology, roadmap building, code reviews, testing).
