SRE Lead (#1474)

The Center for Educational Technology (CET) is an independent organization dedicated to advancing education in Israel and beyond.

We are searching for an experienced and dynamic Team Leader to manage our SRE team. As a SaaS provider in the education sector, we believe in creating a seamless environment for learning and growth. This role is pivotal to ensure our infrastructure remains robust, agile, and cutting-edge, meeting the demands of educators and students alike.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Direct and expand the SRE team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Define and implement SRE strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and customer needs.

Production Excellence:

• Guarantee the reliability, scalability, and performance of our services with a 24*7 production environment.
• Drive the incident management process and ensure a rapid response to production issues.

Collaboration & Integration:

• Work closely with the R&D department, particularly with respect to operational insights that can inform the development lifecycle.
• Liaise with DevOps teams within R&D to promote operational best practices and robust CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Oversight:

• Steer the transition and management of cloud platforms, specifically Azure and AWS.
• Spearhead modernization initiatives, transitioning from IaaS components to cloud-native solutions where possible.

Monitoring & Automation:

• Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Lead automation efforts to streamline operations and reduce the risk of human error.

Legacy System Management:

the stability and optimization of legacy systems while leading the charge towards modern infrastructure.

Risk Management & Compliance:

all production systems are secure, compliant with industry standards, and prepared for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Significant experience (typically 3+ years) in SRE or production operations, with a strong track record in leading high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of cloud services (Azure and AWS), with a focus on high-availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Expertise in implementing monitoring tools and incident management solutions. Experience with Dynatrace & PRTG is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage and scale legacy and modern infrastructure effectively.
• Demonstrated success in automating operations in a cloud-centric environment.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in the education technology sector is highly desirable.
