Data Scientist

A startup company that has developed a SaaS eCommerce platform, focusing on a catalog that influences the visibility and accuracy of products. The primary target market is Japan, with an expansion to international sellers. The platform empowers local traders to overcome language barriers and sell anything anywhere on various marketplaces.

The role within the team is diverse, involving NLP, Machine Learning, and end-to-end work from research to production. Responsibilities include tasks such as text classification, data cleaning, data enrichment, developing models using both traditional and innovative methods (LR, random forest/ Transformers), performance optimization, pipeline development, model training, and more.

The team works with Python in a Cloud environment, utilizing AWS, GCP, MongoDB, and MySQL.

The company is located in the central region of the country, near a train station, and follows a hybrid model with three days working from home.

DESIRED SKILLS

• 3+ years of experience with ML models from earlier (LR, random forest) to latest ML models

• Experience in all aspects of model delivery, from data cleaning to release and maintenance

• Experience in robust pipeline delivery for generic / semi-automatic model training and iteration

• Good code writing skills with a focus on performance and efficiency

• Experience with DevOps tools, DB (MongoDB, MySQL) and cloud (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)
