Stratasys is a world leader in 3D printing!
Stratasys is leading the global shift to additive manufacturing with innovative 3D printing solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer products and healthcare. Through smart and connected 3D printers, polymer materials, a software ecosystem, and parts on demand, Stratasys solutions deliver competitive advantages at every stage in the product value chain. The world’s leading organizations turn to Stratasys to transform product design, bring agility to manufacturing and supply chains, and improve patient care.
Stratasys is looking for an Expert Physicist to join an R&D group in charge of Printing Process development.
What you will be doing:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all development aspects of the printing process, including printer motion system and sequencing, driving electronics, fluid and drop dynamics, process models of the interaction of the printed model and the printer, and SW algorithms, for all Stratasys photopolymer 3d printing technologies, with a focus on InkJet 3d printing (PolyJet).
- Leading development activities of the print process E2E, from the ideation stage till final implementation and testing, including defining system requirements, generating work plans, designing experiments, defining new measures for part quality and evaluation, and supporting Alpha testing. The development includes lab work and hands-on printer operation.
- Initiating new print process-related ideas and innovations to support the R&D development roadmap and future needs for improving printed part quality, appearance, printability, and accuracy.
- Defining high-level system requirements for the printers for future product development.
- Improving printed part quality by defining novel print sequences & algorithms and or by process parameter manipulation.
- Supporting and mentoring team members (fellow print process physicists, project system engineers, mechanical engineers, and chemistry researchers) in experiment planning, data analysis, troubleshooting, and subsystem design.
- Process Expert leading or supporting the feasibility and qualification stages of development of InkJet materials and subsystems (print head, motion systems, electronics, optics & SW).
- Consulting to Product Management, CTO on evaluating candidate technologies and solution pathfinding for global Stratasys R&D teams.
- Working in full alignment with all R&D matrix, project managers, Chemistry researchers and system engineers.
Must have for this role:
- Physicist – M.Sc. from a leading university. (Ph.D. preferred)
