Software Engineering Team Lead

Our FortiEDR department specializes in developing cutting-edge Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions that protect our customers from advanced cyber threats. As part of the FortiEDR Security and Cloud group, we focus on building robust and scalable backend systems that power our EDR cloud platform. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Backend Team Leader to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire a team of talented backend developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to team members to enhance their skills and professional growth.
• Oversee the end-to-end development process of backend systems for the FortiEDR cloud platform. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, while managing resources effectively.
• Utilize your strong problem-solving abilities and technical expertise to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions in the context of cybersecurity and cloud platforms. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements to enhance the team's technical capabilities.
• Lead by example and actively contribute to the developm.ent of backend solutions using Python & Go, leveraging frameworks, libraries, and best practices. Ensure the codebase is secure, efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with the architecture team to design scalable and robust backend systems for the FortiEDR cloud platform. Ensure the architecture aligns with security best practices, cloud-native principles, and industry standards.
• Utilize your experience with cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to design, deploy, and manage backend applications and services securely. Leverage cloud services to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirement

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in backend development roles.
• Proven experience (3 years) in a leadership role, leading and managing a team of backend developers.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python and its related frameworks for backend development in a security-focused environment.
• Experience working with SAAS (Software as a Service) architecture, designing scalable and efficient systems for endpoint security solutions within cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including deploying and managing applications and services securely.
• Experience with Elastic Search or similar search and analytics platforms for building powerful search functionalities for threat intelligence analysis within cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions in the context of endpoint security and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a passion for developing and guiding team members in the cybersecurity domain.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or similar message queueing systems for asynchronous communication within distributed systems – Advantage.
• Experience in the cybersecurity industry – Advantage.
