Lab R&D Lead

The Company

Mana.bio is a seed stage venture-backed company, with a vision to leverage AI/ML to unlock non-viral delivery for genetic medicines, including mRNA-based therapeutics, vaccines and gene therapy. The platform is powered by an integration of high-throughput screening wet lab capabilities with machine learning in order to develop drug delivery systems.

The Role

We are searching for an exceptional hands-on scientist to lead a team of lab scientists screening hundreds of Lipid Nanoparticles (LNP) weekly utilizing a state-of-the-art high-throughput robotics pipeline. The team is focused on constantly scaling our throughput and adopting innovative protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of lab scientists
• Take full ownership on complex protocols and procedures
• Automate and scale manual protocols and procedure to our high-throughput robotics pipeline
• Lead the lab data generation efforts in the company improving our LNP predictive models
• Work closely with senior scientists, data engineers, automation engineers and management

Requirements

• PhD in a Chemistry/Biology/Medicine or a related area
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• 2+ year of managerial experience
• Hands-on lab experience in molecular biology, animal cell culture, RNA & CRISPR/CAS9 techniques
• Advantages: Experience in a nanotechnology oriented lab, automated liquid handlers, and flow cytometry
