M.Sc./Ph.D. student

The Technion Complex Fluids Research Group seeks a highly motivated student with a strong background in fluid mechanics interested in pursuing an M.Sc. or Ph.D. and studying the fluid mechanics of viscoelastic fluids flowing through complex configurations consisting of rigid and elastic deformable channels.

Responsibilities

• Manage a multidisciplinary and theoretical research project from conception through publication.
• Acquire new skills and knowledge as required to carry out the research project.
•  Meet weekly for updates on progress and discussions.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Applied Math.
•  A strong and proven background in fluid mechanics is required.
•  A proven background in theoretical modeling is an advantage.
•  A proven background in non-Newtonian fluid mechanics is an advantage.
•  First-author publication in a scientific journal is an advantage.
• A proven experience in numerical simulations (e.g., COMSOL) is an advantage.
• Ability to read scientific literature.
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
•  A love and passion for scientific research.
