Backend Team Leader

What's the job?

Unity is looking for an outstanding and passionate Backend Team Leader to join our R&D backend team and work on one of our core server products.

As the team leader, you will orchestrate and take part in building our next-generation tools and applications, which will help the Exchange department to be one step ahead of our competitors and increase revenue.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the backend team - building and supporting the team’s processes, team development, and performance management.
• Ensuring highly scalable and reliable services, including designing and implementing low latency, highly available services.
• Keeping backend architecture up to date, suggest and implement its improvements.
• Leading the product development lifecycle from early stages to production.
• Working closely with different teams such as Product, DevOps, Data, and Support.
• Recruiting, training, and mentoring team members set a high technical bar for the team.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years experience as backend team leader.
• Strong leadership capabilities in managing high-performing delivery teams.
• Management experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Experience with:
• At least one of the following technologies: Go (Golang), Node.js, Scala, Java.
• SQL and NoSQL
• Fully cloud-based architecture (AWS preferred).
• SCRUM/Agile development.
• Demonstrated experience delivering highly scalable server-side solutions.
• B.Sc. in computer science (or an equivalent degree).
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Can-Do attitude!
