Freelance Content Writer

CheezCake - Cheezburger’s sassy love and dating brand - is seeking a talented freelance content writer to join our team. If you have a passion for storytelling, humor, internet culture, and thrive in a creatively fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You will be responsible for creating 12-15 engaging listicles per week, covering topics related to dating, love, relationships, and pop culture. 

Responsibilities:

• Create and edit high-quality content for CheezCake, including articles and listicles
• Research and stay up-to-date with trends and topics related to dating, relationships, and pop culture
• Brainstorm and pitch new content ideas that align with CheezCake's brand voice and audience
• Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content is on-brand and meets our editorial standards
• Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and style
• Optimize content for SEO and social media engagement (we will guide)
• Manage and adhere to editorial calendars and deadlines

Qualifications:

• Understanding of online media and audience engagement strategies
• Basic knowledge of social media best practices
• Experience in content creation and editing, preferably for a media or entertainment website, is an advantage
• Basic SEO knowledge is an advantage 

Skills: 

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to search and find trending content on social media platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, etc.
