BioMedical Engineer – Catheter Development Specialist

The ideal candidate is expected to proactively and independently deepen team clinical knowledge to better understand end customer needs and support the team in evaluating new innovative initiatives from clinical standpoint.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and enhancing catheter-based medical devices.

Responsibilities:

Identify new possible clinical applications based on our core competencies in R&d and mass production - magnetic navigation, sensors and micro-assembly and Electrophysiology

Collaborating with the team in developing solutions for customers, by contributing clinical understanding to create end customer focused solutions.

Participate and lead the biomechanical development and design of catheters and components.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to build prototypes and conduct biomechanical testing. Evaluate the performance, safety, and reliability of mechanical systems and provide data-driven design recommendations.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in catheter technology, specifically related to balloon catheters and braiding technology, and clinical best practices.

Preparing an in-depth analysis of the solutions offered by start-up companies for the purpose of an internal discussion regarding the feasibility of the company's engagement with these start-ups as customers.

Examining IP Options.

Expanding the medical knowledge of the staff - training, sharing research and articles.

Maintain meticulous records and documentation of biomechanical and mechanical design specifications, test results, DHF records and design changes. Prepare thorough documentation for internal and external use.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience in catheters development. strong knowledge of clinical applications and requirements for balloon catheters, braiding technology, Electrophysiology and Cardio-Ablation – Advantage.

Strong knowledge of medical device regulations and standards. ISO13485.

An innovative and proactive mindset with a passion for healthcare technology.

Ability to work effectively in a global environment and with different cultures including Asia, USA and Europe.

High level of English, both written and verbal.

Ability to locate and deeply understand scientific articles and research.

Ability to work on multiple projects.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and FEA analysis tools.
