QA Automation / Web Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Web QA Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications.
The ideal candidate is not just a traditional tester, but a technical QA professional who understands the modern development lifecycle. You will be responsible for end-to-end web testing, comprehensive API testing using tools like Postman, and managing basic deployment processes using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities

Web Testing: Execute detailed manual and automated test cases for complex web applications across different browsers and devices.
API Testing: Execute functional, integration, and regression tests for RESTful APIs using Postman (including environment variables, collections, and automated assertion scripts).
Git & Deployment: Utilize Git for version control (branching, merging, pulling). Confidently trigger, monitor, and run application deployments through CI/CD pipelines to staging and production environments.
Defect Management: Identify, isolate, log, and track bugs in project management tools (e.g., Jira). Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
Regression & Release: Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and before major releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in Web QA engineering.
API Testing: Good proficiency with Postman (writing test scripts in JavaScript within Postman is a huge plus) or similar tools like SoapUI / Insomnia.
Version Control & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Git (GitHub, or Bitbucket) and the ability to confidently run and manage deployments.
Web Technologies: Good understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, DevTools).
Methodologies: Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes (Agile/Scrum).
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a sharp eye for detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical issues clearly to developers.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Web Automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Basic knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases for data verification.
