International Trade Compliance Specialist

The position summary:

Responsible for facilitating, coordinating, monitoring, and optimizing the company’s international trade activities in the global business. Assisting in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, developing market strategies, and advising import and export operations. play a crucial role in helping organizations engage in global markets and navigate the complexities of international commerce. Coordinating with government agencies, External advisory firms, and trade associations.

What you will be doing:

Oversight FTAs worldwide

• Learn and stay up to date with all relevant FTA
• Maximize duty-free trade capabilities
• Periodically review FTA’s compliance with all company’s portfolio
• Support recommendations to the sourcing team to improve procurement structure

Manage Import clearance and HS Code classification

• Overall responsibility for company’s items Harmonized Codes
• Maintain a reliable and accurate database of all shippable items
• Explore alternative classifications to reduce duties
• Monitoring and performing audits for entries confirming accurate customs clearance
• Assuring the company complies with all trade regulations (License, shipping documents, Registrations, etc.)

Duties Drawback

• Global oversight for all duties drawback process
• Explore ways to expand the scope of duties drawback, and reduce 3rd party fees

Export Control

• Review and maintain the Export Control database
• Supporting Export Control approvals

Entries Value Reconciliation

• Support the annual customs entries reconciliation
• Work with customs brokers and the finance team to submit adjusted values

Knowledge POC

• Build strong relationships with governmental agencies, Trade advisory firms and carriers
• Stay up to date with all International Trade changes and trends, and document the company's internal database
• Conduct training sessions for staff and partners to ensure they understand international trade regulations and best practices.

Must have for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent or similar discipline
• Strong knowledge and experience with international trade regulations and customs procedures
• Experience working in global firms and multicultural approach capabilities
• Strong research and analytical skills, self-learner, and proven initiator

Nice to have:

• Experience in advisory firms
• Experience with customs and other governmental audits
