Technical writers at Salesforce produce documentation and content experiences that help customers get the most out of the product. We work closely with other writers, product managers, engineers, and the User Experience team in an Agile development environment to produce help, guides, interactive training, in-app assistance, and videos for administrators, users, and developers.

We’re passionate about creating awesome docs of all sorts for our customers, from UI text to walkthroughs, from online help to training modules, from release notes to developer guides, and from videos to implementation guides. We create innovative, solution-oriented content strategies that deliver the right content, the right way, at the right time.

Salesforce is looking for a top-notch technical writer to help the Content Experience team by creating, updating, and delivering documentation and user assistance for various projects.

You have proven experience writing end user and administrator documentation. You enjoy making challenging, complex ideas, concepts, and tasks understandable and appealing to diverse audiences. You're a great match if you're self-directed, passionate about technology, and understand how your work contributes to the overall success of our customers. You work autonomously, but also have an excellent facility for working with others. Added bonus: you’re flexible and enjoy variety.

Required Experience/Skills

• 4+ years of experience documenting software for technical audiences
• Ability to write clean, concise, and approachable content
• Experience in creating clear, effective UI text
• Experience in making complex concepts and tasks understandable to diverse audiences
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables within tight deadlines
• High standards of quality and attention to detail
• Flexibility and interest in working on a variety of projects
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple deliverables within tight deadlines
  
  

Desired Experience/Skills

• Experience in documenting web-based applications or enterprise-class client/server software
• Experience with source control software such as Perforce or ClearCase
• Knowledge of DITA and structured authoring.
• An XML editor like Oxygen
• Experience with image editing software
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Agile approach to development
