Staff Software Engineer, Database Migration Service, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• Typically 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
• Experience with SQL Server administration and tuning.

Database Migration Service (DMS) is the gateway to customer data migration to Google Cloud. It is the tool to understand their database migration path, perform migrations quickly and easily with maximum fidelity and minimal downtime, and validate the success of their process so they can keep the business moving.

In this role, you will understand and assess the customers databases needs and options for their workload modernization. You will convert rich schemas, databases and application code to facilitate the transition. You will leverage innovative AI/ML approaches to facilitate and accelerate the clients journeys
