Financial Controller

DESCRIPTION

Nexar is looking for a Financial Controller with a sharp mind, attention to detail, independence, and strong people skills, to be a key player in our Finance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for accounting, compliance, and finance-related projects. This is a great opportunity to work with talented, driven people in a successful, fast-growing global SaaS and Hardware company.

We are open to hiring for this position in either our Porto or Tel Aviv offices. If in Porto, we’ll need a Hebrew speaker who is familiar with all finance/tax-related Israeli legislation.

This position is based in Porto, working in a hybrid regime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading consolidated financial statements
• Leading tax aspects for Israel, the US, Japan, and Portugal, including what is related to sales abroad
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements, tax returns, and other reports to the authorities
• Manage a team of 1 Bookkeeper and 1 Assistant Controller
• Oversee account ledgers to ensure the execution and accuracy of ongoing/monthly/annual accounting matters (US GAAP)
• Work with external auditors and advisors
• Manage day-to-day finance operations (e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable)
• Improving finance-related systems, procedures, and policies
• Other duties within the accounting, compliance, and finance domains, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Technical skills & qualifications

• 3+ years of previous experience as a Financial Controller (mandatory)
• Proven experience in inventory management (mandatory)
• Experience in people/team management
• CPA with Big 4 experience
• Strong accounting knowledge of US GAAP
• Solid knowledge of online market sales (e.g. Amazon, Shopify, Recurly)
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken (mandatory, only applications in English will be accepted)
• Experience with software tools, such as Priority, and Mesh, is an advantage
