Overall responsibility for Amdocs innovation lab unit with strategic, business, and operational leadership. Operate autonomously within area of responsibility and be fully accountable for meeting strategic financial and operating objectives of the unit. Influence and set direction for high profile products, processes, services, and specific initiatives. Establish vision and goals for the unit that align with overall strategy. Assist in delivering strategic and financial results by growing the business and meeting customer needs. Adapt goals based on changes in company strategy. Define unit operational plan with responsibility for plan execution.
What will your job look like?
As a head of innovation lab you will lead Critical partnership across key stakeholders – global business, Amdocs technology, Marketing, and various services teams. In addition, you will be responsible for Portfolio Demos – support sales pipeline leveraging products, services, and innovation to bridge the gaps of products, build futuristic innovative demos, and create business and technical stories.
- Unit Leadership - Work with peers units (such as market, product, etc.) to define the engineering unit strategy and investment direction and translate the strategy into strategic and operational plans. Build an annual operational plan for the engineering unit considering market and business needs, budget, and company direction. Lead the unit through needed transformation to promote overall unit strategy by creating a progressive environment that embraces change and perceives challenges as opportunities. Drive unit motivation and promote clarity and alignment by communicating effectively to the unit and all the relevant interfaces, while considering cross-cultural aspects. Represent the engineering unit perspective within upper level management.
- People Leadership - Lead the management team and set appropriate leadership strategy. Translate company and unit goals, budget, market needs, and strategic direction into high level workforce planning, including location distribution, knowledge, and organizational structure. Set leadership standard and drive direct reports to lead their teams with a high level of engagement. Create an engaging environment and build a sense of pride among employees.
- Operation Excellence - Set the unit operational goals and track applicable KPIs. Resolve highly complex problems that require resolution at the senior management level. Analyze and challenge current work methods and procedures to create process improvements and results.
- Customer Focus - Understand market trends and direction, the dynamic nature of the business, and customer needs to build solid strategic and operational plans to achieve the best results. Add value to customer business and assist the customer in succeeding in the market.
- drive innovation - Transform market visions & trends into concrete prototypes and immersive experiences, engage startups & 3rd parties to create new business offerings. Adopt agile methodologies to disrupt the market. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to grow the business.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, out of which there is a minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading large development groups (40-60 people) through software development cycles.
- Proven experience in software development methodologies, principles, procedures, software management, and support tools and services.
- Proven track record in leading development projects and delivering whole products or solutions to the market.
- Experience with global IT companies is an added advantage.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent - information technology, management information systems, software engineering, and networking.
- Use your influence, leadership skills, and propensity for delivering strategy to positively impact the outcomes for a large customer base for a global leader.
- You will be able to use your outstanding customer relationship building skills to shine on a large scale.
