The FinOps Engineer mission is to identify opportunities for cloud and software optimization, prioritize how we need to tackle them, and partner with leaders across Hunters (Engineering, Finance) to execute against these opportunities to drive tangible results. This individual contributor role will lead and empower a highly matrixed team of engineering, product, and finance leaders as we get on our platform modernization journey to meet customer demand with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and profitability, with real-time impact on the entire business.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain financial systems and tools that enhance financial operations efficiency.
• Streamline financial processes through automation to minimize manual interventions and reduce errors.
• Analyze, Identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize spending across various departments and projects.
• Work closely with our finance and legal departments to negotiate cost terms, contracts, and budget
• Implement and manage automated tools in order to identify and optimize cost trends
• Evaluate and manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.
• Design and build dashboards to support product owners, DevOps Engineers, and executive-level requests
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improved financial decision-making, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry standards. Generate accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop training materials and guide finance and non-finance teams on financial best practices and system usage.
  
  

• At least 1-2 years experience as a FinOps Engineer or equivalent
• Superior analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Self-starter who can also work with a team to deliver superior customer service
• Analytical and quantitative skills with hands-on experience in cloud demand forecasting, and cost optimization
• Proactive thinker analyzing data sets and trends along with business roadmaps to identify opportunities and produce meaningful insights
• Experience with cloud providers' billing and cost management tools and processes (CloudHealth, Finout, Anodot/Pileus).
• Familiar with AWS services, architecture, and tools
• Have hands-on experience with Python and SQL
• Have experience with 3rd party cloud cost optimization tools
