Practical System Engineer

NVIDIA is looking for a dedicated Practical System Engineer who's passionate about computers and edge-technology platforms.

The primary responsibilities will involve building edge-technology platforms, lab operations, and equipment maintenance.

The successful candidate will join the Firmware infrastructure team that builds and maintains NVIDIA edge-technology platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate and maintain lab infrastructure, ensuring flawless connectivity, equipment maintenance, and the efficient use of debugging utilities.
• Build, configure, and maintain sophisticated, bare-metal, and virtual computing systems.
• Solve and address issues related to desktop applications, workstations, and associated equipment to ensure flawless operations.
• Efficiently coordinate team purchasing requests and inventory management to maintain operational efficiency.
• Get along with other engineering and product teams around the globe to coordinate FW/SW deliveries.
  
  

• 2+ years of experience in roles typical of top technology firms, including network administration, electronics practical engineering, or equivalent positions within the semiconductor and high-tech sectors.
• Strong practical experience in a lab environment and a deep understanding of system-level operations.
• Passion for computers and networking.
• Willingness to work within a team environment of constantly evolving requirements.
• Collaboration with others across groups in a direct and productive manner.
• Creative, and open-minded for new insights and for innovation.
• Self-learning skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  
  

• Practical engineer diploma in electronics/software.
• Showed knowledge of Linux environments and bash scripting.
• System administration and certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields.
• Familiarity with the understanding of serial protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, etc.) and hardware schematic sheets.
• Proficiency with electronic lab test equipment, including DMMs, scopes, and debugging utilities.
