The FX Trade Support MO team mitigates operational risk through its functions. In practice this means ensuring trades are captured accurately, reconciliation of trading positions, monitoring of Straight Through Processing trades, management of life cycle events, verify accurate referential data in systems, following regulatory rules, and escalation as necessary.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure the transactional integrity and accuracy of positions across systems used by the FX & Rates business lines
- Ensure that the day-to-day processing of trades are completed in a timely and correct manner thereby reducing expense and exposure
- Investigate trade discrepancies for prompt and accurate resolution to stakeholders
- Manage and control trades’ life cycle events
- Manage market data vendors, oversee their contracts and deliver reliable data sources with value for money
- Proactively liaise with the Company’s brokers, clearers and trading venues, ensuring open lines of communication, joint issue resolution, and efficient reconciliation of trades
- Verify modifications of discrepant trades’ impact on Risk and PnL, make sure impacts are immediately made transparent
- Assist in the identification, specification, and testing of system enhancements
- Provide innovative ideas to systematically update controls and procedures to reduce operational risk
- Document functions into procedures and ensure information is updated
- Escalate issues and anomalies detected
- Manage Transaction Reporting (TR) processes and ensure all reports are processed in a timely fashion
- Provide data around TR issues and errors to Compliance and work with them to mitigate and reduce errors
- Proactively provide updates of key metrics and potential issues to regional and functional management
- Develop strong relationships with local and global teams
- Work with management and IT on maximizing the use of technology to gain efficiencies and minimize processing errors / settlement failures
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in middle-office roles within the financial services industry, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, trade support processes, Compliance and Governance and trade processing systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Thorough knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
