Job Description

Join a startup developing Aptos - a new first in class architecture that eliminates the bottlenecks and challenges of current CPUs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the software and compiler team on the architecture (hardware/software interface) and the hardware team on microarchitecture for Aptos, our novel general-purpose processor, to meet PPA requirements.
• Evaluate CPU architecture and microarchitecture suggestions driven by data analysis as well as designing the data collection process in detail
• Participate in research and analysis of current and new CPU architectures and microarchitectures
• Participate in developing proof-of-concepts (PoCs) with performance analysis - Propose strategies for potential performance issues that could impact architecture, microarchitecture, hardware, software and system changes
• Track relevant industry CPUs architectures, IP technologies and requirements
• Develop appropriate patent IP
• Collaborate with logic and physical HW teams for the microarchitecture strategies and development efforts as well as verification efforts.

Job requirements

BS, MS (or PhD) in Electrical and or Computer Engineering

Strong background in CPU ISA's, microarchitecture research, and performance benchmarks.

Hands on proven capabilities for PoCs (proof of concepts) and design of CPU architectures and microarchitectures

Experience with performance benchmarks: analysis and optimization

Experience in Hardware definitions and design flows, CPU microarchitecture – documentation, design, simulations and implementation for FPGA and ASIC DSM nodes with silicon track record
