a global biotech company is looking for Agriculture R&D Project Manager

Job description

• Develop and execute the strategy for the agricultural R&D department in alignment

with the company's objectives.

• Identify emerging technologies in molecular biology and agriculture, and explore ways

to implement them in the companies’ agricultural technology to gain production yield

and reduce costs.

• Design and implement molecular biology experiments to implement plant genetics,

gene expression, and molecular pathways .

• Utilize advanced molecular techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, gene editing

(e.g., CRISPR-Cas9), and genotyping to modify and improve crop properties.

• Lead field studies including setup of experimental plan, protocols, follow up, data

collection and analysis.

• Plan and execute experiments to genetically improve the company plants line.

• Write study protocols and reports.

• Manage breeding program and genetically modified plants bank.

• Collaborate and coordinate activities with relevant company functions (Ops, QA, QC,

RA).

Education and experience requirements

• PhD in plant Sciences

• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and genetic engineering tools: tissue

culture, gene expression, plasmid transformation, CRISPR-cas 9, genes insertions

• Specialized in plant physiology, breeding (preferred crop plants)

• Hands-on experience in field studies for breeding (Industry) or related

• Good understanding of agronomy and plant physiology

• Good knowledge and experience with data management and statistical analysis

• Project management skills
