Java Team Lead

About the team:

Client is currently undergoing significant growth, necessitating the

restructuring and expansion of our R&D department. As the Backend Team Leader, you will be entrusted with the task of establishing and leading this new team. You will begin with a single developer and gradually expand the team by adding more skilled developers. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping this team and driving its success as we continue to grow and innovate. The Teams responsibilities include optimizing, maintaining and building new features for the infrastructure domain.

Tech stack:

Java, Cassandra, Protobuff, Spark, AWS services (SQS, Lambda, S3, and others), Spring, Redis, and more.

What will you do:

• Lead and manage a team of backend developers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to achieve project goals effectively
• Set technical direction and best practices for the team, ensuring high-quality code, system architecture, and adherence to development standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data science team, frontend developers, QA engineers, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration and successful project outcomes

Who you are:

• Goal-driven leader with a can-do attitude.
• Proficient in mentoring and conducting code reviews.
• Effective task prioritization and time management skills.
• 3+ years of excellence in big-data-oriented development.
• Strong server-side (Java - Spring) and big-data engineering expertise.
• Experience with mission-critical distributed systems for high throughput and low latency.
• Experience with AWS cloud (or similar) services.
• Familiarity with managing large-scale production databases.
• Holds a B.Sc. in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrates adaptability and a keen interest in continuous learning.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Experience in the AdTech, understanding of ORTB
• Experience in web clients, and HTTP/Rest APIs.
