Financial Controller - Israel/Bulgaria

To empower every food moment around the world, whether it’s through customer service, coding or couriers.About This RoleThe financial controller oversees the financial operations of the respective legal entities and the consolidated country results by reviewing the output of the Global Finance Operations (“GFO”). Working collaboratively with the Country Finance Leads (“CFL”), they contribute to enhancing the quality, reliability and timeliness of reporting deliverables and processes.The financial controller adds value to the GFO output by having a firm understanding of the local operations and reporting requirements (internal and external). Part of a global team of financial controllers who work closely together to facilitate consistency throughout the group and leverage off from the knowledge between them and within the group.The primary responsibility is closing the books of the local entities in an accurate, timely and efficient way.These are some of the key ingredients to the role:Leadership

• Covering the Israel and Bulgaria entities
• Regularly meeting with other financial controllers and the GFO managers.
• Operating as the communication channel between CFLs, finance business partners and GFO and other specialist finance functions such as tax, procurement and treasury.

Internal reporting and analysis

• Providing input for financial reporting and analysis to guide decision-making by the CFLs and Country Management insofar as necessary.
• Monitoring over the MEC calendar and other statutory reporting calendars. Independently challenging the CFL on decisions and approach and ensuring appropriate governance on investment decisions.
• Understanding the connection between our ERP system Workday, our consolidation system OneStream, and our FP&A system Anaplan.

External reporting

• Ensuring that statutory financial statements are prepared by the GFO in a timely manner (and assisting with the related tax filings) and other reporting to authorities.
• Ensuring any local reporting obligations are met through close collaboration with the GFO, CFLs and Group Reporting team (i.e. Group accounting manual, local regulatory framework / GAAP, and auditor/tax authority guidance).
• Assisting the CFLs and Country Management to take ownership for statutory financial statements of the legal entities, through related letters of representation, and subsequent events.
• Coordinating with external auditors and internal Tax team for tax audits.
• Prepare audit proof position papers / memos and together with GFO prepare for the deliverables to the auditors.

What will you bring to the table?

• Degree in accounting: An academic degree in business economics, ideally with a completed postgraduate degree (e.g. RA, ACCA, CPA, CA).
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in finance, previous work experience as an external auditor is a requirement.
• Have a helicopter view: A complete understanding of the finance function and its many processes and being able to anticipate implications for accounting / taxes, following up in a timely manner.
• Knowledge and experience with IFRS, local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well familiarity with tax accounting.
• Familiarity with Workday (ERP) and/or OneStream (Consolidation & reporting tool) as well as with data analysis systems is preferred.
• Strong communication skills (English required) to develop and maintain partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external parties, such as (tax) auditors.
• Be cool under pressure: Finance is known for its tight deadlines and elevated stress levels, especially during peak workload times and we need to know you can handle it.
• Be a teamplayer and hands on professional: takes care of complex topics and guides them through to completion.
• Proficient English speaking.
• Native speaker for Israel - Hebrew or Bulgaria- Bulgarian
