Squad Lead

Job Description

• Lead and mentor a proficient team of system administrators and network engineers
• Define and execute the infrastructure roadmap in alignment with business objectives
• Oversee critical infrastructure components' design, deployment, and maintenance, including networking, virtualization, and servers
• Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data center assets
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and data center equipment and systems repairs
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, and ensure system integrity
• Translate intricate technical concepts into clear communication for effective engagement with stakeholders
• Cultivate a positive work environment, emphasizing growth, collaboration, and innovation

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in technical or infrastructure-focused roles
• Strong interpersonal skills and adeptness in communicating with diverse stakeholders
• Proven experience as a Data Center Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of data center technologies, including server hardware, networking, and storage
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, VMWare, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in network and system infrastructure management, including Linux system administration
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs), VPN, and firewall configuration
• Understanding of security best practices and implementation of system resilience techniques
• Proficiency in high availability concepts and implementation, including redundancy, failover, and load balancing technologies
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar languages for task automation
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring systems (SNMP, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
