Network Engineer

Provides support, guidance, and direction for network trouble issues.Provides analysis, implementation, maintenance, and support of all Chevron networking solutions.Monitors and evaluates network systems tracking problems.Join Global Chevron Networking team with planning, recommendation and implementations of networking solutions and improvements.Install and performs upgrades to hardware and software as required.

• Provides expert networking and telecommunications consulting, guidance, and strategic planning.
• Interprets business requirements into technical frameworks, and provides technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements, and alignment with all other technology portfolios.
• Participates in design of all LAN/WAN networks providing core guidance based on Chevron defined designed standards. Evaluates and tests network and telecommunications technologies and develops value propositions for such technologies in alignment with Chevron goals.
• Analyzes and develops business requirements to drive the development of network and telecommunications solutions and their frameworks.
• Performs network modeling and capacity planning.
• Ensure Chevron EMED network comply with security standards, and processes to maintain corporate and regulatory standards.
• Analyzes regional project needs/requirements and recommends network systems and hardware.
• Coordinates with Chevron technology architects to provide technology planning and roadmaps.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• Cisco CCNA/NP, CCDA, CCDP
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches - mandatory
• Experience with Cisco IP voice systems
• Experience with TCP/IP - mandatory
• Experience in network analysis and monitoring
• Experience with Satellite and/or microwave networking systems
• Experience related to Industrial Control Networks - an advantage
• Experience with Routers, Firewalls, VPNs, IP Telephony, WAN, LAN, LAN/WAN Hardware, and protocols
