Job Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to
Advance new innovations and new technologies to the market, while working closely with suppliers, across Philips’ Innovation & Strategy (I&S) Group, including the Chief Technology Office and Research programs. In this role you will contribute to shaping our healthcare future to help save people’s lives. You are involved in the early phases of healthcare R&D, driving innovations with suppliers and ecosystem development.
Your Role:
- Creating strategic impact by engaging early in I&S’s portfolio of Advanced Development (AD), Product Development Lifecycle Maintenance (PDLM), Architecture & Platform Creation (APC) & Value Stream projects to deploy innovative solutions from a supplier base innovation, cost, quality & risk point of view.
- Influencing R&D in the development projects (e.g., systems, software, hardware etc.) by defining a make-buy-partner strategy to leverage external innovation propositions and achieve the best value for Philips and its customers
- Supporting the I&S management stakeholders in defining an ecosystem of external partners that support the strategic ambitions of Philips in the healthcare continuum
- Bringing an outside in view to develop innovative solutions to simplify, standardize or platform components or assemblies across the portfolio through scouting innovation activities
- Conducting early supplier innovation events to bring suppliers earlier in the innovation process and DfX activities to identify opportunities to improve product cost, quality, and risk
- Driving close collaboration with business Product Sourcing Engineering, Supplier Quality & Procurement teams for early involvement in I&S development programs/projects
- Leading the Product Sourcing Engineering swim lane in Advanced Development, Architecture & Platform Creation, Product Development projects
The Product Sourcing Engineering team supporting the Philips Innovation and Strategy Group, which includes the Chief Technology Office. The team is located in Eindhoven.
You are the right fit if you have:
- Engineering degree such as systems, software engineering etc.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a technical and/or procurement environment
- Affinity with technology and innovation and involvement in architectural and platform decision making
- Experience in a software development environment
- Experience in leading projects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to think strategically in a global environment
- Experience with scouting suppliers, analyzing core/non-core and in/outsourcing decisions
- Fluent in English (written as well as oral); other languages a plus
