DevOps Engineer

HUMAN was founded in 2012 in a Brooklyn sci-fi bookstore by Tamer Hassan, Michael Tiffany, Dan Kaminsky, and Ash Kalb. HUMAN is seeking a talented and highly motivated Devops engineer who will play a crucial part in shaping and implementing our highly scaled infrastructure, introducing new technologies and standards in order to help the company achieve a modern, unified infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Research and implement new technologies and take our infrastructure forward.
• Manage and maintain cloud based infrastructure using tools like pulumi, jenkins, mongo, postgres, redis, kafka, haproxy, ansible, prometheus, thanos, loki, opensearch and more while ensuring high availability and cost efficiency.
• Implement various solutions for our unique production challenges, including FinOps, custom scaling mechanisms, networking automation, etc.
• Collaborate with R&D to improve stability & reliability of the system.
• Participate in the on-call rotation supporting the applications and infrastructure.
  
  

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience as a Devops engineer.Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure).
• Experience with infrastructure as a code (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, etc.).
• Experience with version control systems like Git and knowledge of GitOps principles.
• Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, etc.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Deep understanding of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like prometheus, grafana, ELK stack, etc.
• Self-direction, ambition and an eagerness to learn new things.
• Proven experience in maintaining highly available production environments.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a distributed environment.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills to collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams.
