The Data Center Operations group is looking for a Remote Field Service Engineer .

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining servers and supporting fixtures and infrastructure in remote data centres located within Israel and other European sites. In this role you will focus on developing and sustaining solutions through communication and coordination with Apple Data Center teams, Business Groups and 3rd Party Colocation Providers to help deliver a solid infrastructure and services to meet global business objectives. We seek a self starter, visionary team player with strong infrastructure cabling capabilities to drive standards as well as innovative methodologies to achieve these objectives.

Key Qualifications

• Expertise with data centre operational tasks, including rack sizing, construction, equipment installation and decommissioning. Willing to do hands-on activities.

• Hands-on experience with various copper and fibre cabling structures, cable infrastructure design and labeling methodology.

• Expertise with break-fix and incident management .

• Experience with DCIM (Data Centre Infrastructure Management) tools. Hands-on operations in securing and monitoring equipment with enterprise level management tools.

• Experience of increasing responsibilities within a global, multi- cultural, multi-location organization.

• Certification in data Center operations or data center related certification. e.g. CDOM, CDFOM, CDCE, CDCS.

• Core Competencies include:

• Must be capable of independent problem solving and self-motivated.

• Strong communicator at all levels with excellent oral and written skills to a variety of audiences.

• Ability to organize and work effectively with other project teams and departments participating in DC related projects.

Description

In this role you will help execute regional co-location projects in the deployment and maintenance of compute servers in remote data centers including cabling infrastructure and DCIM elements. You will provide DC incident management and change control to prevent and/or manage failure scenarios leading to the recovery of services with improvement plans to mitigate future occurrence. A proven track record in remote vendor management for infrastructure expansion, enforce compliance with technical specifications and quality standards is also needed.
