Job Summary

In this role the Sr. Maintenance Calibration Technician will be accountable for repair, support, maintain and track West machines, manufacturing lines, manufacturing equipment, testing equipment and more to assure continuous and effective production.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Leading all relevant engineering support for company production processes (Machines / production lines maintenance, repairs, spare parts and enhancements)
• Identifying and leading Lean Manufacturing processes to improve productivity.
• Supporting West pharma IL quality control in manufacturing.
• Identifying and resolving potential safety hazards. Maintaining a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
• Manage spare parts inventory to minimize equipment down time.
• Manage vendors maintenance activities including machine builders, control programmers, electricians, calibration etc.
• Accountable for performing regularly scheduled general preventative maintenance activities on tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Working closely with R&D teams and interfaces on NPI’s projects
• Accountable for supporting jigs design and new testing device setups.
• Establishment and purchase production and engineering equipment.
• Administrative responsibility for maintenance documentation such as: calibration reports, maintenance logbooks and maintenance procedures.
• Support implementation of SAP plant maintenance module.
• Working according to West pharma procedures
• Accountable for creating necessary documentation in support of assigned activities in compliance with West QMS.
• Performing other duties according to business needs.
• Lead annual calibrations process for machines.
• Relevant work history and/or experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Mechanics or Electricity Practical Engineer.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  
  

Preferred Knowledge, Languages, Skills And Abilities

• knowledge in Automation systems (Mechanical systems, Pneumatic systems, motion systems, Sensors, control etc.)
• “Hands-on” ability to repair, adjust and install complex electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic).
• Experience in “Solidworks” or a parallel 3D CAD system (modeling and drawings)
• Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
• Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance
• Preferred experience with automation equipment.
• Ability to communicate with professional vendors and manage them (control, machining, electrical, etc.)
• Proficient in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Ability to work under procedures and follow them.
• Ability to create technical documentation
• Maintain engineering maintenance dept. parts inventory
  
  

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel up to 5 % of the time
  
  

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Light – exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.
