The Laboratory of Functional Nanomaterials at the Technion

The Lab headed by Prof. Ester Segal at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Engineering is involved in cutting-edge research at the intersection of nanomaterials and biotechnology, a field often referred to as nano-biotechnology. The multidisciplinary research in the lab aims to develop new materials and technologies for advancing human health and a sustainable environment. Some of the key fields of research in the lab are: biosensing technologies for medical diagnostics, tunable nanomaterials for drug delivery, and responsive nanomaterials and surfaces. Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Research Associate and Laboratory Manager at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Engineering at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. As a Research Associate and Lab Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for co-leading research projects, carrying out independent hands-on research, advising and supporting graduate students in the group, managing the lab research infrastructure, writing reports, and supporting the Principal Investigator in grant proposals and manuscript writing. This is an on-site role located in Haifa District, Israel.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in conducting high-level hands-on independent research, preferably multidisciplinary
• Proficient in oral and written communication skills and capable of working in a highly collaborative and international research environment
• Proven experience in writing scientific papers
• Fluent in English and outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Engineering and technical orientation
