BI Developer — Payments

Payments is one of the highest-stakes domains in a B2C gaming environment, every approval rate shift, every chargeback trend, and every provider routing decision directly impacts revenue. In this role, you will own the full intelligence layer of the payments domain, with real influence over decisions that protect and grow the business.

You’ll be part of a small, high-impact team working with a modern data stack in a fast-moving company, dealing with real-world payments complexity.

Responsibilities

✔ Own the payments BI domain end-to-end, dbt models, BigQuery pipelines, and Looker dashboards consumed daily by Finance, Payments, Risk and Fraud
✔ Build and maintain pipelines and dashboards covering the full transaction lifecycle, authorizations, settlements, chargebacks, disputes, and reconciliation, across multiple payment providers
✔ Monitor and analyze provider performance, approval rates, chargeback trends, and conversion funnels to surface actionable insights for the Payments and Finance teams
✔ Partner with the Risk team on fraud signal analytics, velocity patterns, authentication flows, card-level risk, and BIN-level exposure
✔ Validate new payment flows before launch, defining instrumentation, success metrics, and monitoring thresholds for new providers or checkout experiences
✔ Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure payment pipelines are accurate, cost-efficient, and production-grade
✔ Support ad-hoc deep dives and business questions from Payments, Finance, and Product stakeholders

Requirements

✔ 3+ years of BI or analytics experience in a B2C or online environment, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the payments field, including payment cycles, processor relationships, settlement flows, chargeback mechanics, fraud prevention, and card network dynamics
✔ 2+ years of hands-on SQL experience, production-grade, complex queries. BigQuery is a strong advantage
✔ Experience with payment authentication flows and fraud prevention mechanisms, including issuer authentication, step-up challenges, liability shift, and decline reason analysis - is an advantage
✔ Experience with Looker (LookML, explores, dashboards) - a significant advantage
✔ Familiarity with similar transformation frameworks is an advantage
✔ Strong communicator, able to bridge Payments ops, Finance, and the data team clearly and accurately
✔ Detail-oriented and data-skeptical, you QA your own work before it reaches a stakeholder
✔ A strong team player who takes full ownership of their domain from raw data to business decisions
