Company Description

Asterix Foods is a food tech company located in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company is focused on creating animal-free glycoproteins for the food industry. Glycoproteins require precise glycosylations to accurately fold, recognize, and bind - driving the functional performance needed in the food industry. The company aims to unlock the second wave of animal-free proteins using plant cells to achieve glycosylations that microbial fermentation is challenged with.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Bioprocess Scientist. The Bioprocess Scientist will be responsible for operateing bioreactors, from cell culture maintenance, sampling, harvesting, and inoculating bioreactors.

Lead process optimization efforts to enhance productivity and yield.

Troubleshoot bioprocess issues and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Scale up bioprocesses from lab-scale to pilot-scale and commercial production.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Biotechnology Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

3-5 years of industry experience in operating bioreactors.

Experience working in a sterile environment and aseptic techniques - must

Familiarity with cell culture, sampling, harvesting, and inoculation.

Demonstrated experience in process optimization and troubleshooting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and propose innovative solutions.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive and results-driven attitude.
