The Head of R&D will be responsible for building and leading a multidisciplinary R&D team, including software engineers, Hardware engineers, Automation/ PLC engineers, mechanical engineers, and AI developers. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with a deep technical background and experience in both legacy and modern technologies. You will oversee the full development lifecycle and play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge robotic solutions to our global industrial customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the company R&D in alignment with the Product team, in light of the vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Build, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary R&D team.
• Define, prioritize and implement the company's R&D roadmap and technology strategy.
• Drive development lifecycle management from concept through launch and post-launch support.
• Oversee all aspects of hardware, software, mechanical, and PLC system design and integration.
• Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of product development milestones.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Executive teams to align R&D goals with business objectives.
• Remain hands-on with architecture, code review, and system design and engineering, in legacy environment like C#/.NET and lead transition to, and adoption of, new technologies as cloud, IoT, etc.
• Establish and implement R&D methodologies, standards, and tools. Drive adoption of best practices in Agile development, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own development specifications, documentation, and communication.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and technology providers.

B.Sc. in Electronics, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering – Mandatory. An advantage for background in Mechanical Engineering.
• M.Sc. / MBA – an advantage.
• Experience working in start-up / young technology companies, preferably in fields of robotics, industrial automation, and AI.
• Proven experience of at least 6 years in senior R&D management roles as Head of R&D, VP R&D, or Director of R&D.
• Demonstrated ability and experience building and scaling high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience in development of complex products that integrate software, hardware, embedded systems and AI. Experience with mechanical engineering development – preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in welding or steel processing – a significant advantage.
• Experience and knowledge in industrial manufacturing – Mandatory. Experience with Industry 4.0 – a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with PLCs, IoT, mechanical integration, and embedded systems. Experience in SCADA – an advantage.
• Strong hands-on background in software development, in legacy environment, particularly in C#, .NET, and modern cloud-based and IoT systems. Ability to maintain current systems and transform to new technologies.
• Understanding and experience integrating with complex communications protocols (like Modbus, Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, etc.)
• High level and fluent in Hebrew and English, verbal and written.
• Based in Israel. Office is near Kfar Saba. May be hybrid in later stage, but in any case, at least 3-4 days on site.
