Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and highly technical Sr. Software Architect to join the Pathfinder group. This role combines architectural leadership, technical innovation, research, and hands-on software development. 

The ideal candidate is a senior software architect who can lead system design, prototype future solutions, mentor engineers, and serve as the technical authority for the group. 

 This role acts as a strategic and technical partner to the Group Manager, serving as a “co-pilot” in shaping the group’s technical direction. The architect complements the Group Manager by leading deep technical thinking, reducing uncertainty through research, experimentation, and prototyping, and helping drive key technical decisions across the group. We are looking for someone who enjoys staying hands-on by writing code, building proof-of-concepts, validating technical approaches, and working closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape the future of the product. The successful candidate will play a key role in accelerating innovation and driving the architectural evolution of Pathfinder. 

Responsibilities:



• Lead the architectural design and technical direction of the Pathfinder product, ensuring scalability, reliability, maintainability, and long-term evolution. 
• Define architectural standards, best practices, and design principles across the engineering organization. 
• Serve as the primary technical authority and focal point for Pathfinder, providing guidance on complex technical challenges and critical design decisions. 
• Partner closely with Product Management to evaluate future product capabilities, conduct technical research, shape the technology roadmap, and proactively validate future initiatives by investigating new technologies, assessing technical feasibility, and developing proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes ahead of development teams. 
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns where they provide measurable value. 
• Drive architectural consistency through technical reviews, design reviews, and collaboration across engineering teams. 
• Mentor and coach engineers on software design, architecture, distributed systems, and engineering best practices. 
• Promote a culture of technical excellence, innovation, continuous learning, and high-quality software engineering. 
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives. 
• Communicate technical concepts, architectural decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI technologies, LLMs, RAGs, AI agents, and agentic systems to enhance products, development processes, and business outcomes. 

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.  
• 3+ years of software architecture experience, including designing distributed systems and leading technical direction across complex software projects. 
• Proven experience designing, architecting, and evolving large-scale distributed systems and microservices-based platforms, with deep expertise in software design principles, architectural patterns, scalability, performance, reliability, and security.  
• Strong hands-on development experience building enterprise-grade backend systems using technologies such as C#, Java, Python, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS, or similar technologies.  
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design, architecture reviews, and complex cross-team initiatives, while influencing technical direction and driving alignment across engineering teams and stakeholders.  
• Strong ability to evaluate emerging technologies, perform technical research, build proof-of-concepts, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.  
• Practical experience designing and implementing AI-powered solutions, including hands-on experience with LLMs, RAGs, AI agents, agentic frameworks, MCP, orchestration frameworks, and modern AI application architectures.  
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

• Become the technical authority for Pathfinder. 
• Drive key architectural decisions and product evolution. 
• Reduce technical risk by validating future initiatives through research, experimentation, and POCs. 
• Improve engineering effectiveness through mentorship, technical leadership, and architectural guidance. 
• Help Pathfinder successfully incorporate modern AI capabilities, agentic systems, and intelligent automation where they provide business value. 
• Raise the overall technical quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform.
