Senior System Engineer

Responsibilities:: In this position, you will:
• Work with technical architects and end users to understand business requirements to implement the designed infrastructure solutions on different projects in parallel.
• Work with the project delivery manager and act as the IT System lead contact for delivering the infrastructure solutions, while ensuring quality of deliverables.
• Participate in the project solution implementation (operating systems, third-party software & hardware) with the project engineering team based in France, Romania and abroad
• Lead on Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Linux technologies and products, providing subject matter expertise.
• Contribute to project planning, testing, training, and support when needed.
• Participate in the translation of architecture documents into detailed design and configuration specifications.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostics of products while maintaining familiarity with competing products.
• Perform system management activities including monitoring, troubleshooting, backup management, storage management, system sizing, upgrade and patch management during project’s delivery
• Participate to the local Data Center maintenance and security leveraging activities with the system & network engineering team
• Support and contribute to the platform activities with the Platform engineers
Qualifications / Essential Criteria:
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science with prior experience in systems engineering & design
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Excellent knowledge within complex infrastructure design and implementation.
• Excellent communication skills, commitment, discipline, positive attitude, following management prioritization, accountability
• Customer facing experience and flexibility to travel to customer sites when required
• Ability to apply advanced aspects of technical/engineering area to practical business problems.
• Significant experience with Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server and knowledge of Active Directory Group Policies.
• In depth experience with an array of clustering technologies, encryption, and virtualization technologies.
• Extended knowledge on infrastructure security and best practices with networking skills, storage area networks.
• Strong understanding of ITIL and change management policies and procedures.
Desirable Criteria:
• Committed to maintaining the highest standards of service quality in all aspects of project delivery
• Good troubleshooting skills: know how to identify and escalate problems that have an impact on the client and / or strategic initiatives.
• Experience of Installation, Configuration and Admin with VMware products (ESX, vSphere, vCenter, HA, vMotion, etc.).
• Experience in scripting and automation tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring technologies and best practices.
• Relevant experience with configuration management tools.
• Infrastructure as Code, implementing DevOps tools as of Terraform, Ansible.
