Technical Writer - defense

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in the defense industry to collaborate on ongoing and short-term projects. The ideal candidate will have native-level English proficiency, high-level Hebrew proficiency, and proven experience in technical writing for defense-related projects, including documentation for military-grade systems, aerospace, or security technologies.
Work Arrangement:
• Freelance/Contract-based – available for ongoing or short-term projects.
• Remote or on-site, depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, operational procedures, maintenance guides, and system specifications.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and structured documentation aligned with defense industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with military and defense regulations (e.g., MIL-STD, ITAR, or other relevant standards).
• Work closely with engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and product teams to gather and verify technical information.
• Conduct quality checks and proofreading to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
• Adapt writing style for various audiences, including technical personnel, government agencies, and end users.
• Maintain version control and update documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

• Proficiency in technical writing tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, or XML-based authoring tools) – an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong research and collaboration skills to interact with engineers, developers, and compliance teams.
• Experience handling classified or sensitive information, with the ability to undergo a security clearance process.
