DescriptionGreenberg Traurig (GT) a global law firm is seeking a 3-5 year U.S. admitted Associate to support GT's Tech department. Key components of the job include conducting research, drawing up and reviewing documents, and managing or advising clients on legal transactions. Practice specializes in advising clients on privacy-related, commercial and corporate matters on a global scale.Duties & Responsibilities
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Provide Consultation and Advice to Others - Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or process-related topics.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Analyzing Data or Information - Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Advises clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, and legal rights and obligations.
- Compliance with applicable rules of professional conduct.
- Compliance with Firm’s policies, including, but not limited to, its Business and Risk Management Policies and the Commitment to Excellence Program.
- Admitted to practice law in the U.S.
- 3-5 years' relevant legal experience as a U.S. attorney
- Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand and synthesize the points being made.
- Persuasion - Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
- Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
- Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Time management - Successfully accomplishing a number of tasks with competing deadlines (multi-tasking) to meet internal and external deadlines and client and firm expectations, which includes periods of highly focused concentration.
- Computer Skills - ability to use computer proficiently to accomplish tasks for clients and firm.
