VP/Director of Development

Job Description:
Factory 54, a leading retail company, is seeking a visionary and strategic VP/Director of Development to drive our software development initiatives. In this executive role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for our development teams, ensuring alignment with our business objectives, and delivering innovative software solutions that enhance our retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and lead the software development strategy, aligning it with Factory 54’s overall business goals and vision.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications that support retail operations.
• Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the development team, promoting collaboration, continuous improvement, and best practices.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven enhancements and strategic initiatives.
• Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and deployment processes.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Factory 54 remains at the forefront of retail innovation.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to senior developers and technical leads, fostering professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex software development projects, preferably in the retail sector.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and experience in implementing them at scale.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
