Analytical Chemist

Tenova Advanced Technologies, is an international company offering comprehensive
solutions for the mineral processing, fertilizers and industrial phosphate industries The
company R&D center at Katzrin develop separation processes for the chemical industry,
mainly solvent extraction, reaction and membranes separation.
1.0 PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Preform laboratory analysis at the company’s R&D center.
Develop new analytical methods
Participate in analytical research and development
Write work instructions
Train lab technicians
REPORTING TO: The Chief Chemist
2.0 KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Perform laboratory analysis in R&D center, for metal extraction chemical processes
development.
* Responsible for accurate work in accordance with company procedures, instructions
and requirements of standard ISO 9001.
* Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment, for example ICP-OES, GC,
AA, TOC, VIS Spectrometer.
* Troubleshooting of analytical methods and instruments where necessary in
accordance with SOP’s and instructions.
* Provide assistance in R&D test preparation, execution and analysis, issues
investigation and quality control.
* Assist in development and validation of new analytical methods and updates.
* Record data, prepare reports and interpret results together with laboratory team.
? Prepare instructions and protocols for approval.
* Work in laboratory environment safely according to the company safety instructions.
Use appropriate personal safety equipment for handling chemicals when required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
* B.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering. MSc an advantage
* English – high proficiency level.
* At least 3 years of industry-relevant experience in analytical laboratory with one of
instruments: ICP, GC, HPLC, AAS, Spectrophotometer, Titrators.
* QA/QC course or experience – advantage.
* Experience in development and validation of analytical methods – advantage.

2.0 COMPETENCIES
* Capable of independent experiment execution, data collection and analysis
according to instructions.
* A professional, pro-active approach and an ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Have strong ability to critically review analytical data, excellent attention to detail is a
must.
* Takes initiative and well organized.
* Willingness to work night shifts when needed
