The DCE team at Varonis is responsible for building core backend systems that classify and process sensitive data at massive scale.
The team is developing a brand-new, autonomous data classification flow from the ground up, using modern microservice architecture, event‑driven design, and cloud‑native technologies.
Key technical challenges include designing highly scalable and reliable distributed systems, processing millions of files with high performance, and making foundational architectural decisions that sit at the heart of Varonis’ data security platform.

About the Role
We are looking for a self-driven and experienced software engineer to join our R&D department. In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing a brand-new flow that classifies and processes sensitive data in files.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and test complex backend systems to ensure they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
Review and provide constructive feedback on your teammates' code to maintain high-quality code standards and promote best practices.

Requirements
5 years of experience in building complex backend systems.
Experience in C# / JAVA / .NET
Expertise in microservice architecture
Proficiency in working with various backend technologies such as databases, caches, k8s, containers, Kafka and cloud environments.
Proficiency in working with advanced AI tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team.
Experience in the cybersecurity space is an advantage.
