Ex Libris is seeking a Software Engineer to work on the development team of a base product for academic libraries.

The work involves developing in a Java environment while integrating innovative development technologies.

About You – must have requirements:

B.A. in Computer Sciences or Software Engineering

Programmer with 2 years of experience in Java

Experience developing web applications

High level of English – both written and spoken.

Ability to work on a team

Highly motivated, self-learner.

High attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills

It would be great if you also had:

Knowledge and experience with IntelliJ, Tomcat, Hibernate, Web Services

Experience with any of the following – advantages: GWT, Angular

Experience with Solr

Experience with relational databases (Oracle), SQL, and Hibernate persistence framework

Experience working in an Agile Development environment

What will you be doing in this role?

Developing new features

Implementing new/upgraded 3rd party tools/technologies

Fixing defects

The product you will be developing

The product you will be developing is called Alma.

The Alma development team focuses on adding innovative features to the Alma Library Services Platform built on the Ex Libris Higher Education Cloud Infrastructure.

This position is for a frontend and backend developer with Angular experience who will be part of the team to build new and exciting functionality.

About the Team

The team is composed of 4 full-stack developers, and a technical leader, all reporting to a development manager.

Our base is in the Jerusalem, Israel office, working in a hybrid model

This is a full-time position.
