We are seeking a strategic and people-focused Product Design Manager to lead, coach, and grow a team of talented designers. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our platform by guiding your team through the design of user-centric, high-impact product experiences. In addition to design team management, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research leadership to align design strategy with business goals.
What you will do
Team Leadership & Development: Manage a team of product designers, providing coaching, career growth support, and performance feedback.
Design Strategy: Partner with cross-functional leadership to define and communicate the design vision and roadmap for your product areas.
Operational Excellence: Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of design work while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement: Drive improvements in team workflows, collaboration practices, and design operations.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape product strategy and ensure design is grounded in user needs and business goals.
AI-Enhanced Design Leadership: Encourage the adoption of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Bolt.new) across your team to accelerate ideation, streamline research, and improve design velocity.
Design System Integration: Ensure your team contributes to and leverages the Phenom Design System to maintain consistency and efficiency.
What you’ve done
7+ years of experience in product design, including at least 2 years managing designers.
Strong design portfolio and track record of delivering successful digital products.
Demonstrated leadership in coaching designers and building high-performing teams.
Experience working in agile product development environments.
Familiarity with AI-enhanced tools and workflows in the context of UX and product design.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
Strong understanding of design systems and component-based design.
