Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join the team responsible for managing and maintaining our high-performance, multi-user Linux server environment and CI/CD pipelines. This hands-on role is critical to the daily operations of our research and engineering groups. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Linux system administration, proficiency in Python for updating and maintaining custom tooling, and the technical capability to provide high-tier support to our engineering users. As a proactive, self-learner individual, you take initiative, work independently, and actively identify opportunities for operational improvement and bring new ideas to the table.
Responsibilities:
Core Infrastructure: Manage and scale our large-scale AWS-hosted Linux server environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
Tooling & Automation: Architect and maintain custom Python-based solutions for automation, internal dashboards, and self-hosted services.

5+ Years of provable hands-on Linux system administration experience - MUST
Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Linux+
Proficiency in managing multi-user Linux environments including clients and servers.
Experience working with AWS - MUST
Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and tooling.
Experience integrating and configuring modern developer tools (e.g., Cursor) into the server environment.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
Experience with CI/CD processes (e.g., Jenkins, Github workflow)
Strong communication skills with the ability to assist users of varying technical expertise.
Knowledge with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
Advantages
Familiarity with AWS FSX managed storage - BIG advantage
Experience in a machine learning or data science environment.
Experience utilizing or deploying AI-based tooling for system administration and automation.
