Reports to: Director of Operations

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and well-organized Facility Manager to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a large, multi-functional campus serving as a youth and event center.

The site is located approximately two hours from Budapest and covers nearly 7 hectares. It includes multiple accommodation buildings with capacity for up to 500 guests, an outdoor swimming pool, more than 10 indoor activity spaces, a dining hall with a modern kitchen serving up to 500 people, reception, laundry facilities, playgrounds, on-site medical facilities, advanced security systems as well as air-conditioned, fully serviced, and well-equipped buildings.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Develop and implement a multi-year preventive maintenance plan.
• Oversee repair work and development projects across all facilities.
• Manage facility permits, ensure mandatory audits are adhered to.

Team Leadership & Operations

• Coordinate and supervise department heads across key operational areas (maintenance, kitchen, housekeeping, gardening, office administration), ensuring smooth collaboration, accountability, and consistent standards
• Organize the hiring and supervision of approximately 200 seasonal staff- orchestrating training, scheduling, and performance oversight.

Vendor & Budget Management

• Oversee supplier negotiations, contracts, track budgets, control expenditures, and ensure cost-efficiency while identifying creative, practical solutions aligned with the overall operational strategy

Compliance & Safety

• Coordinate with Regional Security officer to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols, including leading repairs and upgrades
• Ensure kitchen standards are maintained, including liaising with inspectors and compliance bodies.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety and environmental regulations.

Stakeholder Reporting

• Provide timely updates and reports to the Director of Operations, acting as a liaison between facility operations and other relevant departments.

Guest & Staff Support

• Support smooth onsite operations during peak camp seasons and off-season events (conferences, retreats), ensuring high satisfaction for guests and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Languages: Fluency in Hungarian and English (verbal and written) is essential.
• Experience: Strong background (5+ years) in facility, camp, hotel operations or similar fields with robust maintenance/technical and project management. Experience managing multiple direct reports (5+), including supervisory-level staff.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid technical understanding of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety systems), with the ability to make informed decisions and effectively oversee technical teams and external contractors. Basic administrative skills (e.g., office systems, Project management tools)

• Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team effectively and maintain approachability.
• Organization & Planning: Stellar organizational skills, process-oriented mindset, and capacity to manage multiple projects across multiple levels of the organization.
• Adaptability & Initiative: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and resolving unexpected challenges efficiently.
• On‑site position: Daily presence at the camp is required.
• B2 driving license, Certificate of good conduct with clear records less than 3 months old
• Prior experience with camps, retreats, or large-scale hospitality venues
• Facility or project management certification (optional but preferred)
• First-aid/medical or health-and-safety credentials
